Boy have we been having a great time on our trip around the world! I completely flaked on working out in Dubai and London. BUT I bounced back by working out consistently in Southern California. Now that we are in Northern California I am also regularly moving my body. I do miss my elliptical and free weights...
...What a great feeling it was to run through my childhood neighborhood and think, "gee, I never did this during the 18 years that I lived here yet now that I am almost 40 I am doing it now!"
The best part has been reaping the benefits of my healthy lifestyle. It has been nice to feel confident. I have been shopping a lot and am happy to put something on and feel good in it. I know my weight has fluctuated a bit, I have definitely been eating things I usually don't eat. But I am trying to bottle this "feel good" feeling before I go to the Dr tomorrow and step on the scale. No matter what it says, I know that this trip will only last a few more weeks. I will soon be back in my routine in China and can be very consistent and focused. But for now, I will continue to be conscious of what I eat and exercise too and NOT let the scale dictate my happiness!
Does summer break help you to be more or less healthy?

while food may be your vice on vacation, it is exercise when i am on mine. for the life of me i can't figure out WHY people would exercise ON VACATION. hello! it's a va-kay-tion. haha. i guess i should do that on vacation too and not just count "walking around at the water park" as my exercise for the day ;)
